My revelations of this year

Hello lovelies ! ! !  ^^

I was thinking about some valuable lessons I've learned this year.  I've put them into the form of (hopefully) inspirational quotes.

We all have those bad days where we get angry and frustrated; but I think that even though a person gets upset, they can still come out a winner if they've learned something from that experience.

Here's some of the things I've learned and hopefully they will help and inspire others.

1. Don't be too sad about something ending; try to think of it as a new beginning.

Leaving a job, moving to a new town, ending a relationship...  these are some examples of 'endings.'  But I'm fed up with being sad and depressed.  Why not take the optimistic approach?  I've found that thinking of endings as new beginnings makes me feel so much more content with the situation and hopeful for a new experience.

2. Live in the now.

This is a great lesson I learned near the end of the year.  I would sometimes wonder to myself, "Why is my life so dull?  Am I trapped in this repetitive lifestyle forever?"  The problem was quite simple and there's a very scientific and psychological answer to this question.

The brain is happy with the normal lifestyle because it represents safety; it is something that has evolved the human brain for thousands of years.  Overcome the natural instinct to stay in the vicious cycle of normalcy and believe that you won't be ready later, you're ready NOW.

There's this really, really great quote from... wait for it......... Kung Fu Panda! that I've never forgotten and it's such an epic quote.

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift.  That is why it is called the present."

3. Don't worry, be happy!

This is something a wise old P.E. teacher taught me long ago when I was still in elementary school.  He would always have us repeat it like a mantra after doing stretches, lol.

Life is too short to be anxious and worried.  There was a time in my life where I would worry a lot about my future...  Damn, I still worry now.  But this goes back to my second resolution to live in the now and stop worrying about the past or the future.  I've heard a saying that the only time that truly exists is now.  So we might as well make the most of it!  :D

Thanks for reading ! ! !  Let's have an awesome year! ^o^
