I've been neglecting makeup reviews for far too long.... gomen-ne ! (> . <)   I recently had to restock on BB creams so I bought a couple online, one that I usually use (Super BB) and another that I've been wanting to try out.  I purchased both items on ebay, the Super BB priced at $11.80 and the Aqua Petit Jelly priced at $11.96 . My skin type: Semi-oily SUPER Beblesh Balm Triple Functions (40g) by Skin 79 Description/Ingredients This is my 'go-to' BB cream and so far, my favorite because it's easily blendable, gives a flawless finish, and looks the most natural. Coverage: 4/5 This gives a very natural finish even though the color initially appears gray and ashy; eventually it blends into the natural skin tone.  It works well for faded, minimal acne and scarring.  It doesn't show dry flaky skin and has just enough moisture to give a semi-dewy finish yet not appear oily. Use selective face priming: Instead of priming your entire face, try priming only the areas that need it such as your T-zone.  Primer actually prevents the skin from breathing by forming a seal over it (much like plastic wrap) so it isn't always the best thing to prime the entire face.  Only certain regions may need it. Don't use sunblock under liquid foundation: Doing this will make your makeup even more oily and cakey.  This also applies to sun serum which I have tried using.  Your makeup will get oily much faster if you do this.  Instead, opt for using a powder foundation over your sunblock during the hot summer months.  I've tried this and found much better results with my skin getting less oily throughout the day! :D If you must use a liquid foundation, try to get one with SPF in it and use only that without sunblock. This "Beauty Tips" post is a new idea I came up with for myself and anyone else who's interested in how to apply makeup effectively. I always end up with questions while using makeup like how I can make my foundation last longer, how to keep my eyeliner from smudging, and so on. I've decided to make note of helpful makeup tips I've come across while experimenting different techniques. Hopefully others will find this helpful. :D How to keep eyeliner from smudging: What I do is apply ONLY Waterproof Cover Girl mascara on my bottom and top lashes.  I've found that Cover Girl mascara has the ultimate waterproof formula; I can tight-line my eyes, draw in eyeliner, and it still doesn't smear. I was so excited at the time when I successfully created this look but of course got lazy and ended up not posting it... I was originally going for the look Cassie wore in Nicki Minaj's video "The Boys" but since my eyes don't have that certain hollowness that Cassie's has, it didn't work too well on me.  For some reason, whenever I try to do some really dramatic looking makeup for my eyes, they end up looking like sh*t!  xD So after playing around and watching some tutorials, I came up with this.  The main emphasis is on the outer corners of the eyes where I used a black eyeshadow to really intensify the look.  You can honestly use any kind of lighter eyeshadow to the middle part of the eye.  I used a shimmery rice paper/beige color.  The middle part of the eyelid isn't too dramatic with just a slight gradient from the outer edge going inward.  This gives a great contrast between the outer part of the eye and the inner part. It's about time I post a new tutorial!  Here are some tips and tricks that have worked for me when I needed the most lasting, non-smudge, and non-cakey makeup for a long day.  I have semi-oily skin so depending on your skin type, this look may or may not work for you. For lasting makeup, I feel that the most important features to focus on are the skin, eyes, and hair. SKIN To start, I always *lightly* moisturize by getting maybe half a pea sized amount of facial lotion (I personally use Alba Botanica ), rubbing it in both hands until smoothed out, and patting it on my face. This may seem like it will make your face more oily but in fact, it prevents dry skin that will make the foundation look flaky and it also can pat down already dry skin on your face so it won't show up when you apply your foundation. As promised, here is my review of the Etude House Precious Mineral Sun BB Cream-! ( "^ o ^" ) I was introduced to this BB cream by Etude House themselves.  I stopped by their store in the Namdaemun district of Korea while on vacation and they gave me a sample of this with my purchase. I was quite intrigued by the the SPF qualities this product had and decided to purchase it online. I was initially planning on buying the Missha Watery BB Cream but since it was continuously out of stock, I decided to go with the Lioele brand. I think that this BB cream is very pleasant in terms of smell, texture, and coverage. It feels very cool and hydrating on the skin and even though it's a light formula, it does a nice job of evening out my skin tone. The only thing that slightly irked me is that on the picture below, the product states that its name "Water Drop" comes from the water droplets that apparently form while applying. Well, I don't know if I got a dud or not but I never got to witness this phenomena with my BB cream. :/ Aside from this, the Lioele Water Drop BB Cream does a nice job with evening out skin tone while staying light and hydrating. On my recent trip to Washington, I visited Uwajimaya and in their gift section, they have these Pa eyelashes. They currently cost $3.50 each which isn't bad because when I shop online, I usually see them for a very similar price. I didn't have to worry about shipping there and so I bought about 10 of these. After using these eyelashes, my feedback on them is that they are indeed a little more on the stiff side in terms of the part of the eyelashes that you adhere to your eyes. Although I think it's okay because they're not super stiff like the Hime or Pretty&Cute lashes. In my experience, the stiff lashes are usually a lot more difficult to get on your eye and they can easily fall off. They're also a lot more uncomfortable if you don't fit them to your eye just right. When I buy lashes, I have a preference for the lashes with the flares on the ends. False eyelashes seem to be all the rage these days and along with applying mascara, makeup gurus and many other girls seem to be using them. I agree that they give eyes a big extra boost and open then up like nothing else can but using them too often can make us start to rely on them a bit too much. I was one of these people and I started to feel like it was unhealthy that I couldn't rely on my own natural eyelashes to do the job. I have a friend who uses false eyelashes almost every day and her eyelids don't look so great. Sometimes they're okay but others, they're red, swollen, and dry. This hasn't happened to me yet but I think about it sometimes. Putting eyelash adhesive on your eyelids probably doesn't do any initial damage if done correctly but I'm sure that over time, it can start to show damaging effects as I saw from my friend. I feel pretty happy today since I finished almost everything I told myself I would do. I had a lot of library books from my last speech's research to return so I went to two different libraries to return them. Yep, I do lots of research..., lol Then I almost finished my self/peer evaluation for our most recent speeches during my break which is cool because that stuff can take a long time. Sooo I'm really close to finishing that. Just one peer evaluation left. I even finished the extra credit assignment, yaa! What's left is studying for my next bio exam and finishing up the bio take home exam. Our teacher is being really cool about it because she gave us the exam today, and is even going to take questions on it for next week if we finish early and have questions. The pictures come out super huge so I don't really recommend anyone clicking on them unless you want to see the pictures in super closeup detail. >.< These are the single NYX eyeshadows I've bought. From left to right, there's: Silver, Frosted Flakes, and Baby Pink. I don't really recommend you getting any of these shadows because they're so common. The only one that seems to be good in my opinion is the silver which would work great with black matte eyeshadow for a smokey eye look. I've experimented with the silver and other colors but with anything other than black it just seems to make my eyes look washed out. xP The frosted flakes shadow is alright for a highlight but that's about it.
