Hello again ( insider joke ). Yes, it has been another time skip. After finishing Mr. Robot season 2 and laying  around contemplating what to do with my life, I found another show to watch (American Horror Story season 6: My Roanoke Nightmare). It was also good and I had fun watching it with my mom. But it didn't meet the caliber of Mr. Robot. or even its own predecessors. I blame it on the bizarre platform for this season of AHS. It was too.. Blair Witch-y... (-__-) Let's just say the shaky cam made me dizzy and the story escalated too soon, leaving a somewhat dry finale. So after all that was over, I knew I had to pick up another show (because I have such a fascinating life to live!) and decided that it was time for another K-drama~! So, after watching some fan MV's on YouTube for inspiration, I decided to go with something unfamiliar. It's a historical drama called Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo . Yep, a mouthful. But it turned out to be better than I expected! ...

June, 2016 Favorites

I often see people doing these kinds of things for makeup on youtube so I thought I would make my own list of things I've been liking this past June. ^^ 1. Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter I got this from a local Marshall's and it smells so nice! It's citrus so it's more energizing and it makes my hands feel so soft. 2. The Flash TV Series Nuff said. I wrote a post all about how much I love this show. It even made me start watching DC animations, the most recent one being Young Justice which is also amazing. (*o*) 3. Bunny Wrist Rest I found this baby in a Daiso store while in Seoul, Korea. I didn't think much of it at first, just that it would be interesting to try out. But it's proven to be wonderful and feels like a luxury cushion for my wrist. 4. Final Fantasy XIII-2 I bought this while it was on sale on the PlayStation Network. Long story short, I had some money in there from a game purchase mistake refund. I know this game gets a...

Why I love The Flash TV series (minor spoilers)

Image
I'm so glad that I didn't discover The Flash until this summer ... Because I binge watched both seasons. I'll admit, The Flash is cheesy. But in a good way. I appreciate how the show doesn't take itself too seriously and is open to making jokes about themselves and other shows. One of the main reasons why I got so hooked with The Flash is because it's lighthearted and has well developed characters, including their relationships with one another. The hero, Barry Allen is also quite easy on the eyes. ;) I really like Barry as a hero because he doesn't conform to the outdated superhero trope where girls don't see him as desirable just because he's a little awkward and nerdy. Sure, he can't seem to get the girl he loves to give him a second glance, but he's also handsome and attractive not just because of his appearance, but because of his intelligence and good heart. He doesn't have this Peter Parker syndrome where girls avoid him as...

What up buttercups? 8D

Hello, hello!  How is everyone doing?  I must be doing pretty well since I actually made a new post within a reasonable amount of time, lol. The last post was a insanely long one about why I think an anime couple should be together forever...  Sorry, it was obsessive, I know.  I just love that couple and if anyone else watches the anime, maybe you'll understand my feels.  xD A long cold front has hit us once again.  This has resulted in me and my dogs reverting to couch potatoes. One thing I'm happy about tho, is that I finally got my YesStyle package and it arrived before it snowed! I got 2 jackets, a beanie, and two leggings.  Initially I ordered 3 jackets but one was indefinitely out of stock.  D:  It's kind of disappointing since their website didn't even have a notice that they were out of stock..  Well, what can you do?... Below are the jackets I got delivered. Here's what the jackets look ...

Creepy TV show...

Hey guys!  I've been super obsessed with this horror television series called American Horror Story .  Has anyone watched it yet? I saw it for the first time on Netflix about a week ago.  Some coworkers were talking about it and they said it was really good.  Since it was on Netflix, I thought I might as well watch the first episode. Just so you guys know, I'm a big scaredy cat when it comes to horrors and thrillers.  Usually I steer clear away from them.  I get so paranoid after watching and I hate that feeling of being afraid to go to my own bathroom. D:  My coworkers assured me that this series wasn't that scary and it's mostly 'creepy'. They were right, but I still got slightly paranoid.  XD  I must say, the show is quite gripping and keeps you wanting to watch more and see the mystery unravel.   Still having second thoughts about watching? ( ""> w <"" ) Season 1 is called Murder House; it's about...

TV Series: Once Upon a Time

Image
'Once' weaves reality with fantasy in a surprisingly effective way.  This show is clever in creating anticipation through the possibility of introducing new fairy tale characters with each new episode. The protagonist is un-traditionally, not a teenager.  I had expected someone younger with the fairy tale theme tending to use younger actors for the protagonists in media.  Well, 30 is the new 20, right?  The story starts with Emma Swan (played by Jennifer Morrison) alone on her birthday and she just turned 28.  She's conned by her biological son to visit the elusive town of Storybrooke, located in a distant corner of Maine.  The inhabitants of this town are are under a powerful curse by the Evil Queen and cannot leave or else, "bad things happen." Despite Emma's persistent furrow in her brow, I'm very charmed by all the actors in the show, including her.  I especially like the character Rumpelstiltskin.  He has a great back story and I'm g...

XOXO Gossip Girl: America's take on the many Asian dramas about elite society?

Image
I know... this show is old news.  6-years-old to be exact.  But on Netflix, there is one nice thing about old TV shows and that is the older they are, the more seasons are listed.  As of now, the entire series is up for the taking.  That totals to a daunting 121 episodes that are roughly 42 min each.  This is gonna take a while but I'm up for the ride. What I first found fascinating about this show was the small, yet significant similarity to Boys Over Flowers .  Or perhaps it's closer to Heirs ..  Regardless, both have rich and elite teens plotting against one another in high class society.  I was very curious to see America's take on this material. I find it fascinating to see the cultural differences between the two shows.  One can learn plenty about culture through media. Some major differences between Asian and American television is the sexuality.  At least, in the comparison of Korea vs. America, the sexuality is f...

TV bum

Image
Hello again! Sorry I've been away for a while. It's most likely because I've caught a bad, bad case of TV-bum-couchpotato syndrome that's been really hard to get rid of... D: I thought I might as well share what's gotten me so addicted.  The first one I started watching was " The Big Bang Theory ." My coworkers kept on talking about it and so I finally gave in and downloaded the first season. It's quite funny and somehow I can ignore the annoyingly frequent audience laughter.  The idea of nerdy guys living together as a theme was new and refreshing and I appreciate the attempt because these days, the 'jock' just isn't that hot anymore. On a side note, my brother who is a hardcore gamer and slight nerd doesn't approve of the show nor finds it funny.  He stated it's because, and I quote, "gamers don't talk like that and the audience laughs every few seconds.... don't you find that annoying?" Whatever, ...
