Current happenings

Hello again ( insider joke ). Yes, it has been another time skip. After finishing Mr. Robot season 2 and laying  around contemplating what to do with my life, I found another show to watch (American Horror Story season 6: My Roanoke Nightmare). It was also good and I had fun watching it with my mom. But it didn't meet the caliber of Mr. Robot. or even its own predecessors. I blame it on the bizarre platform for this season of AHS. It was too.. Blair Witch-y... (-__-) Let's just say the shaky cam made me dizzy and the story escalated too soon, leaving a somewhat dry finale. So after all that was over, I knew I had to pick up another show (because I have such a fascinating life to live!) and decided that it was time for another K-drama~! So, after watching some fan MV's on YouTube for inspiration, I decided to go with something unfamiliar. It's a historical drama called Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo . Yep, a mouthful. But it turned out to be better than I expected! ...

The Heirs: I finally get to see Lee Min Ho in a 'rich-boy poor-girl' drama AGAIN! xD

Image
Release date: October, 2013 Director: Kang Shin Hyo Writer: Kim Eun Sook Actors: Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, Yoon Jin Seo Episodes: 20 Genre: Romance, Chaebol The excitement of the great Lee Min Ho starring in a chaebol drama reached my ears soon after it was released. This drama gets off to a good start.  Fated soul mates meet in the foreign and exotic land of Orange County and go through various escapades together and eventually fall in love.  Only later do they meet up again in Korea and realize their vast social class differences.. Yet fate has it that they're living under the same roof!  Cohabitation drama it is!  I'm not a big fan of the first few episodes taking place in Cali (as novel as it may seem) with all the stereotypical 'white people' of America but what can you do...  Koreans going to school in America has been a long-standing, strange rite of passage that's slightly difficult for me to understand. At least the American setting ...

Finally free! :D

Yesssss!  I'm finally finished with spring semester!!!! (ノ〃^▽^〃)ノ。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚オメデトー♪ I'm so happy because for the last few days I was really wanting to move on with my life already.  xD All you people who've been through finals know what I'm talking about! I (sort of) tried my best to study really hard for the last couple of days and I think it paid off since I got a B on my last exam.  YaY!  Right now I'm very cozy in my bedroom watching a good K-drama after a day's hard work.   Can you guess the K-drama?  Hint: The name in the subtitles I'm quite ecstatic because I accomplished everything I planned such as buying my mom roses for Mother's Day , making a test batch of chocolate strawberries, baking her shortbread cookies, and getting all my ingredients ready for the chapchae dish I'll be making her either tomorrow or on Sunday.  It feels good to get everything done on a checklist. Here's the strawberries. This is my first...

Update April 2013

Image
And again I procrastinate horribly...  I try to make it a goal to blog every week but it's hard for me since I can never be consistently motivated.  ╮(─▽─)╭ So what have I been up to for these past few weeks? Where to start..  The first week, I was working on updating my blog layout, moving things here and there, changing up the background, updating the header picture, and just organizing categories and labels for all my posts. I also still have my pathophys class that should be over in only a few weeks~! I'm mostly working extra this week (gotta save up the cash moneys), and waiting for my two orders in the mail.  I recently purchased some products from RoseRoseShop because they have awesome prices on their Korean cosmetics.  It's only taking forever to get here though... I also ordered a shorter peacoat and that's taking forever to get here as well.  *Sigh* this is the price I pay for cheaper costs... When I finally get the my orders in the mai...

It turns out the computer noise is coming from my graphics card! :o

Image
So I looked into my computer issues (read blog post below for more detail) and it's not my hard drive or computer fans after all!  It's the graphics card! I am amazed at the timing of when my computer decides to crap out on me.  It always has to be right before some kind of vacation or when I plan to use my computer a lot.  ( - ___ - ) It's so funny when I think back because when I first heard that motor noise, I was literally doing something like this: In my desperation, derka derka! 8D So I finally finished watching the k-drama 49 Days and it was so SAD !!!  Honestly, I was expecting the happily-ever-after kind of ending but the writers decided to do a 180 on me and create this ending that was the complete opposite of what I was expecting.  With that said, I was bawling my eyes out for the last few episodes; I'm surprised my eyes didn't swell up that much the next day. :/ I'll probably be writing a review for it once I get my graphics card...

K-Drama: Flower Boy Next Door

Image
Flower Boy Next Door is a really cute and cozy K-drama to snuggle up with for the winter season!  The story revolves around an agoraphobic girl Go Dok Mi (Park Shin Hye) who has a habit of peeping on a guy living across from her apartment, Enrique Geum (Yoon Shi Yoon) who is the friendly eccentric brother of the guy Dok Mi is peeping on, and Oh Jin Rak (Kim Ji Hoon) the hapless romantic neighbor who lives next door to Dok Mi. I found the theme of the urge to peep on handsome strangers to be very different and unique.  I also enjoyed Dok Mi's journey to getting out of her agoraphobic tendencies through Enrique.  The romance is very innocent and I love Dok Mi's cute practical fashion. The layering is just adorable!  I love her sweaters Flower Boy Next Door gets extra kudos because they added yet another unique factor and that was casting a Japanese actor as a supporting character. Watanabe Ryu (Mizuta Kouki) moves into Dok Mi and Jin Rak...

It's so cold these days!

Image
I thought I'd post an official blog just about what's going on in my life right now.  The weather has gotten really cold... more like freezing actually.  The temperatures are dropping to the 20's.. Today I was off from work so I decided to make some hot miso soup!  ( *^ v ^* )   There's nothing quite like a hot soup or stew to combat a cold house.  It's funny because my dad claims that we have a lot of food in the fridge but all that 'food' he's talking about is the leftover pizza from last night.  lol I know that in Japan, miso soup is considered more of a side dish or an appetizer but when our family makes it, it's more of a meal.  Along with the miso paste and dashi powder, I usually add: - yellow onion - tofu - wakame - daikon (sometimes) - egg (sometimes) - green onion (sometimes) ... and we eat it with a cooked mixture of brown and white rice!  The tofu adds a lot of bulk to the soup so it's quite filling.  I like to ad...

It's about f**cking time I blog again

It's been a while.  WTF, I always seems to say this so I'm just gonna skip all that shit, lol.  We finally have everything back upstairs.  So what has been happening all this while?  Well, for one thing, the flooring guys finally finished the floor at the very end of August!  Now everything is officially moved back to their respective places. The crazy thing is, after all that $$$ spent on flooring, the washing machine broke down not long after the flooring was finished.   (o_O)  I suggested to Mom that the entire family should pitch in to buy the new washing machine.  It only makes sense as everyone in the family has their clothes washed.  Eventually we all did it that way which I thought was awesome because it really buffed off the edge of the cost that would have been to only our parents.  The new washing machine is a Samsung brand and it has these really cute electronic chimes the indicate certain functions such as different washi...

Bumming in the basement

Image
Great news!  The guys have finally started our flooring after the whole one month wait resulting from shitty scheduling, yay!!! :DDDD We were originally supposed to get the flooring done in mid July but that got cancelled and we were rescheduled one month later, after we already moved our bedding and stuff into the basement. So during that fine time in July, I spent most of it in..... wait for it................... the basement.  (-__-)  I would sometimes crawl back to my empty bedroom and hang out in there since I missed it, boohoo. (T~T )  There were some perks to the basement though as I've said in the previous post, it's a lot cooler down here, temperature-wise. Now everyone really is "one big happy family" because we're all sleeping down here... well, more like living down here.  We can't exactly do much upstairs while the flooring guys are hammering and sanding away. Here's something you'll probably find funny.  Wanna know how I've ...
