Just a simple day

Hello again! Where to start... Hope you all have been doing well. As for me... to put it simply, I ended my relationship. My 3 year relationship. Almost the entire time I was away from this blog, I was in Texas. I moved there to be with my then boyfriend and the relationship didn't work out. So I moved back to Colorado. I will save that story for another day. For now, I will talk about how this day went.  I woke up kind of late. It's a little sad saying this but sometimes I feel my dreams are more interesting than reality, so I choose to stay dreaming..😴 I don't recall exactly how the dream went but I was with a group of friends exploring these underwater caves, except we could breathe underwater. And I recall we came to the end of the cave maze and I helped to push open this stone slab blocking the exit, and outside, there were these Greek looking people and we were hiding from them so we went back in the cave and closed the slab stone door.  My mom flew back to Hawaii to...

Back from Japan!: Getting back home and omiyage

Image
Hello, I'm back and kind of tired so I'll be making this post short.  x) This visit to Japan is undoubtedly the most fun I've ever had there; It must be partially because of my meticulous planning.  Who knows how much time we would have wasted if I didn't plan everything out.. Mom and I each bought a JR Rail pass and covered some serious ground with it.  We traveled from Tokyo to Kagoshima (I'll elaborate in a later post) and visited various cities along the way. The most memorable part of this trip had to be the onsen and sento we visited.  I personally enjoyed it immensely although mom couldn't take the heat, lol. The plane ride back was okay.  All the seats seemed to have individual touch screen TV's fully equipped with movies, TV shows, and other forms of media.  I watched 3 Japanese movies and one Korean movie.  I watched mostly American movies on the flight to Japan so it made sense to watch the Asian movies on the way back. :D  They...

Getting ready to go to Japan~!

I'm getting a slight case of pre-trip anxieties....  Nah, just kidding! lol.  But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little anxious. Mom assigned me as the trip planner so I'm trying to find major locations where we'll be renting hotel rooms and where we can branch out from those set points.  We'll be staying in Japan for a week and for the first time, we won't be spending all our time in a major city, in this case, Tokyo. We'll be traveling from Tokyo to Nagasaki.  We each bought a $279 JR rail pass so I'm hoping it will cover most of the train fare.  I'm working really hard to plan around the Japan Rail Pass map. At the moment I'm looking over the JR map to see what ground we can cover; and that's a lot. I've decided that a good portion of this trip will be devoted to Japan's sento and onsen .  I really, really, really want to experience their bath culture-!!!  I've been to Japan a good few times but I've never ...

Thrift store shoes!

Image
So this is a shopping option that I would have completely shunned a few years ago.  The reason is because of my fear of catching some kind of foot fungus/infection from wearing used shoes. On my recent excursion to a thrift store, I just couldn't resist and ended up getting some really cute footwear.  They were a super bargain as they ended up being only $3.00-3.50 each!  I got them for a lot cheaper because it was a senior sale day where seniors get 50% off a ton of items (if you aren't a senior, remember to take a parent or grandparent with you!).  I'm sure that if I'd bought some of these brand new, they would easily cost me $50+.      Hooray for a successful bargain! The blue colored sandals and the black strapped heels were bought new but the rest are my ultimate bargain babies!  xD As for the 'foot cooties' problem that comes with used shoes, I've finally found the solution.  If one thinks logically, fungus or any other kind ...

My day of grocery shopping

Image
Today started off cloudy and drizzly.  It was nice because I love cool weather.  ^^  I decided to test out my new circle lenses too and they actually were pretty comfortable for the whole day!  I put them on around 1:00 this afternoon and I still have them on right now!  At first I didn't think I could keep them on for more than 4 hours..  Anyway, I don't recommend anyone wearing these babies over 5 hours but yea, I wanted to see how long they could stay on my eyes comfortably.  Alas, a topic for a different post. I decided to do some grocery shopping today because I wanted to re-create some anime dishes that I drooled over the night previously.  xD  I promise I'll post about it later!  I think it would be better suited for another topic. The places I went to were Super Target, the local farmers market, and the local Asian food market. Being the savvy shopper I am (lol), I decided to go to the farthest market first: the Asian food ...

I LOVE thrift stores!!!

Hello again~!  I procrastinated on this blog for about a week so when I talk about it, just keep in mind that this happened about a week ago.  ;) *Flashback to one week ago...* Today was pretty hot but I braved the weather and drove out anyway in my car without AC. XD It was somewhat torturous because I got lost and drove around in circles for almost an hour trying to find the damn place. lol The reason I wanted to go out today is because I was in dire need of a new black cardigan for work.  I didn't want to go spending the average $10 for a cardigan though so instead of going to the mall, I thought, "Hey!  Why not go to a thift store?" So off I drove.  First I dropped off my sister and I decided to take her all the way to her workplace because I 'thought' it would be on the way to the nearest Goodwill.  I was wrong hence me driving in circles.  Dx But I finally made it there after my memory decided to kick in and I was determined to find so...

Me and my lazyass self + clothing haul

Image
I've been sooo lazy, I don't even know why...  I've really gotta get off my ass and do something!  I thought writing in this blog might get my brain motivated to study. I still have one class I'm going to have to finish so that means study, study, study for the upcoming exams. Well, at least I have something to be proud of today since I cooked some miso soup and rice. ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ I recently ventured out to my local mall and stopped by the only store I visit, Forever21.  I was so happy because I finally found a couple of dresses for the spring to wear with my cardigans!  The bottom two are the dresses and the top are spring blouses.  Not only that, but I finally took the plunge and purchased a pea coat on yesstyle.com for around $68 total (shipping included). I'm quite happy with it and glad I took the opportunity to buy it while it was around 30% off.  During the holidays, I saw something like this and it was around $72 without a discount....

Online Haul: Skincare products from Sasa.com!

Image
Yes!  I finally got my Sasa order!!!  It was a good day.  This is my first time ordering from Sasa.com.  Although they had an insane shipping cost (when I saw it it was $15 shipping unless you pay >$75....  It seems that recently they changed it to $6 so I have no idea what they're doing......), they have some mean deals on their makeup and skincare products that you just can't top on other sites, even ebay. The package was shipped on time and I received it in about a week from purchasing. The just opened package I must say, they are very efficient packers.. This may sound bad, but I bought all this stuff mostly for that pink fish-shaped facial scrubbie and so I could get free shipping.  xP The fish scrubbie has been working really well for me and I have yet to see if if does anything for getting rid of/preventing blackheads. Here's a list of the items I purchased, left to right, top to bottom: - Juju Aquamoist Toner -...

Headphones, yogurt, and bubble tea

Do you ever have that moment where you buy something cool online only to find it in a store nearby?  ( -__-) .... That happened recently but I'm very happy to say that I saved some money anyway simply by purchasing it online. Online shopping   >   Regular shopping The headphones in question are these white Sony headphones and I bought it for about $14. Aren't they cute? Overall, I'm happy with this purchase although I don't like the fact that the headphones flatten my hair.  I'm not sure how I'll get around that issue though.  Another awesome fact about these headphones is that they don't give me a headache!  Usually when I wear headbands, headphones, or anything else that clings to my head, I end up with a headache after just a few hours of wearing them.  Not with these babies!  But the downfall of the wideness of the headphones is that it makes the top of my head look flat unless I style my hair to compensate. You won't ge...

Cold days

Image
The weather has been really cold for weeks now!   I guess we'd have a few lucky days where the temperature would rise up to around 50 degrees but then it would be a windy day.  Bleh   It was sort of mis ty and t here was a dusty kind of snow in the air. So what have I been up to during these cold, cold weeks?  I recently fin ished a fairly long working streak.  It would hav e been 6 da ys in a row if I hadn't broken it up ; I'm glad I did.  Working 6+ days str aight starts to make one feel like they don't have a life outside of work.   Trust me, I've do ne 10-11 days of continuous working and it sucks!  A nd to top it all off, all my w ork days took place befo re my exam day so I had a great time cra mming a lot during my final days o f work. Okay, so I'm gonna stop talking about work right now because I usually save that for the rants, lol.  And just a warning, this post is gonna be really long .  I haven't blogged in a w...
