Hello everyone, Happy April-!  Sorry I've been kind of a downer for the last post or two..  Lots of stuff happening at work since it's 'school field trip season', which means lots of kids and people going through at work.. and it's LOUD. xP After working at this job, I feel so much more empathy for all those front desk directory/information employees I saw in Japan (esp train stations).... actually, this goes for anywhere else in the world.  Front desk jobs may look comfortable and carefree but it can get so incredibly stressful! Hey guys!  I've been super obsessed with this horror television series called American Horror Story .  Has anyone watched it yet? I saw it for the first time on Netflix about a week ago.  Some coworkers were talking about it and they said it was really good.  Since it was on Netflix, I thought I might as well watch the first episode. Just so you guys know, I'm a big scaredy cat when it comes to horrors and thrillers.  Usually I steer clear away from them.  I get so paranoid after watching and I hate that feeling of being afraid to go to my own bathroom. D:  My coworkers assured me that this series wasn't that scary and it's mostly 'creepy'. 'Once' weaves reality with fantasy in a surprisingly effective way.  This show is clever in creating anticipation through the possibility of introducing new fairy tale characters with each new episode. The protagonist is un-traditionally, not a teenager.  I had expected someone younger with the fairy tale theme tending to use younger actors for the protagonists in media.  Well, 30 is the new 20, right?  The story starts with Emma Swan (played by Jennifer Morrison) alone on her birthday and she just turned 28.  She's conned by her biological son to visit the elusive town of Storybrooke, located in a distant corner of Maine.  The inhabitants of this town are are under a powerful curse by the Evil Queen and cannot leave or else, "bad things happen." I know... this show is old news.  6-years-old to be exact.  But on Netflix, there is one nice thing about old TV shows and that is the older they are, the more seasons are listed.  As of now, the entire series is up for the taking.  That totals to a daunting 121 episodes that are roughly 42 min each.  This is gonna take a while but I'm up for the ride. What I first found fascinating about this show was the small, yet significant similarity to Boys Over Flowers .  Or perhaps it's closer to Heirs ..  Regardless, both have rich and elite teens plotting against one another in high class society.  I was very curious to see America's take on this material. I find it fascinating to see the cultural differences between the two shows.  One can learn plenty about culture through media. Starting off with a beautiful shot of the sunset. It's really hot these days and this has been going on since April.  I'm seriously considering that maybe global warming isn't total bs after all.  :/ The temperature has been in the 80's and it only backs down into the high 70's on cooler days.  I find it a bit sad because my tulips really took a beating this year.  There were rarely any days with mild spring weather and instead, we were met with either super cold snowy days or scorching hot days... wtf. And again I procrastinate horribly...  I try to make it a goal to blog every week but it's hard for me since I can never be consistently motivated.  ╮(─▽─)╭ So what have I been up to for these past few weeks?
