YouTube Trends: Movie Parodies

This is a comedy type of trend that I've been seeing on youtube lately.  I'm sure there are tons others but these are fairly popular and they seem to have been popping up one after the other. 

I've found 4 youtube channels that all have a similar theme.  Movie parodies.  

Tobuscus
ScreenJunkies
BadLipReading
CinemaSins

I put these in order from who seemingly started the theme.  I went by the dates of the videos so if that's inaccurate, I'm sorry, I was going by the youtubers' channel info.

I feel that Tobuscus is truly the one who started the movie parody theme because I had seen his video from way back, at least a couple years ago.  The first video I watched by him was the Harry Potter literal trailer.



It's really fun and entertaining.  The first movie trailer parody I've ever seen.

After this, it must have taken about a year later for me to discover the other channels and I'm thinking I may have seen one of BadLipReading's videos next, just by virtue of them being around longer.  To be fair, Screenjunkies might have caught onto the movie theme before BadLipReading since BadLipReading started off working with music videos and political speeches and only started spoofing movies about a year ago.  I just happened across BadLipReading first because I saw one of their music video parodies "Gang Fight" which was a spoof on Rebecca Black's God awful 'Friday' song.  It's actually a lot better imo, lol.

But anyway, I eventually found my way to the first BadLipReading movie parody video that they synced with Twilight.  These are funny in an interesting way.  xD



After BadLipReading, I found 'Honest Trailers' by ScreenJunkies.  This was less than a year down the road.  It was one of those featured videos under 'comedy' and I thought 'why not?', and clicked it.  I'm so glad I did.



Honest Trailers are hilarious.  I probably find them the most entertaining out of all the movie parodies rivaling CinemaSins.

I found CinemaSins through ScreenJunkies.  I think they actually feature CinemaSins in one of their videos.

Lastly, I watched a CinemaSins "Everything Wrong With..." video.  There's related videos on the sidebar of videos when people watch youtube and I saw an "Everything Wrong With..." video about the Hunger Games there while I was watching an Honest Trailer.  I like critics so I watched it.  Very funny stuff.



I'm personally really bad at meticulously nitpicking movies so I find it so amusing when people actually do this.

What do you guys think?  Have you watched any of these channels before?  Has anyone noticed any other interesting trends on youtube?

I finally finished the game Lightning Returns recently and zomg, why does her face look so different?  I mean, she looks like she got plastic surgery. Before I begin, I'd like to point out that I am not criticizing the game in its entirety.  This is solely about the change in Lightning's hair and facial design.  The game play of Lightning Returns has nothing to do with this. :) I didn't really notice her face change until I beat the game and watched the ending CG animation scene.  (pic above is from the opening CG scene) I was a bit disappointed that the animators weren't consistent in her facial design, especially when it was so beautiful to begin with. Anime Food!: Brock's Cream Stew

Hello again!  My apologies for taking so long to make another 'Anime Food' post.  Enjoy! During my childhood days of watching Pokemon, I would often see Brock cooking this white stew thing.  It would look so yummy but I had no idea what it was..  And even though my entire family and extended family was Japanese, none of them ever made something like this.  (T__T)  The closest thing I got was corn chowder. Only recently did I discover that it's called cream stew and luckily, it's quite the easy recipe. ^^ I remember the very first time I made this.  I used a cream stew mix pack from the store (the one that has the blocks that you melt in the pot).  That turned out pretty bad so I highly recommend people make this one from scratch.  It's really does taste so much better this way.  I'm lazy so instead of having the pretty diced pieces of carrot, I threw in some baby carrots.  XD Close up ;3 I found this recipe on Little Japan Mama's rec

Movie Review: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 1 & 2

Hooray for the 100th post~! (^0^) I finally got to watching the last installment of the Harry Potter series (The Deathly Hallows Pt2) last night with my dad (and may I add that he was so loud, especially on the quiet parts of the movie, I even had to elbow him and tell him to be quiet... And then he's laugh at inappropriate times, so embarrassing, thank God it was dark). Sorry to say but after viewing it for the first time, I really prefer Pt1. I don't know why, maybe it's because I liked the scenery better or those particular scenes opposed to the 2nd part of the movie. My favorite scenes were the one with the doe patronus and Harry & party running down the streets of London and when they infiltrated the ministry. I'd have to watch the last Hp movie again to give a better review because sometimes when I watch the movie again, I have a better impression of it. The last movie was full of effects and flare.
