Weird crackhead at work yesterday

I closed at work yesterday and alas, I had to face the rigors of the night shift... lol, okay it wasn't all that bad but I was a little freaked out by Mr. Crackhead who was twitching around all over the store.  ( ಠ_ಠ )

So I was in my department, just minding my own business and I see this dude walking around (Note: I didn't notice anything weird at the time).  I say hello, how are you, and then ask him if he needs help with anything.  I do notice at this point that his eyes were really wide open and bloodshot.  Seriously would this scare you because it made me feel a bit scared. lol

It's weird because I got this sort of feeling as if he was this serial killer or something.  Like the type of feeling you get when you think you've just met this person who's going to kill everyone in the vicinity.  Sorry for the visual but I was getting that vibe from him.

On top of all of this, last night I watched the most recent episode of game of thrones "The Rains of Castamere" and I was feeling kinda down.  I guess that episode affected me more than I thought.  I even knew what was going to happen to Robb Stark and his mother... (╥_╥)
If you don't know what I'm talking about here and don't care about spoilers for Game of Thrones, check this out: http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Red_Wedding

Back to the crackhead, I had a few coworkers come up to me, asking if I saw a weird and creepy guy.  I thought for a moment and asked them if they were talking about 'bloodshot-eyes'.  They told me that was him and I thought, oh no, what's going on?

Apparently, he was going around the entire department store, asking associates for different things and sometimes telling them strange stories about his life events.  He had also gone into the women's dressing room with a dress and perfume.  Yeah, very strange..

Here I am, planning on where I'm gonna hide if something bad happens.  I was seriously getting worried because I thought we had a shooter in the store.

Our managers were telling us to report to him where we saw the dude and it seemed like they were keeping a close eye on him.  Even the mall security was involved.

At the end of the day, there were laggers in my department so I was late to close the registers.  I was getting freaked out as each minute went by because I was all alone there in a dimmed store, and our manager had informed everyone via intercom that everyone should exit the store in groups of two for safety.

I felt so lucky because one of my co-workers that was also upstairs stopped by where I was and not only did she help me close a register, she also stuck around without me asking because she was intending on leaving the store with me.  My opinion of her has completely changed.  I've heard people talking smack about her not working hard enough or whatever but I never really thought of her that way.  She's actually a very sweet old lady (btw, she's not the one I was angry with in a previous post).  I was super grateful that she was going to walk out with me and we even met a few of my other favorite co-workers on our way out.  We dedided to exit as a large group.

In the end, I didn't really have much to worry about because there was a mall cop right outside the exit door so I felt pretty safe. :)

When I got home, I went online to figure out more about crackheads and if the guy was actually a drug addict.  One of my co-workers had called him that so I wanted to confirm.  He actually matched the description of a crackhead having a twitchy gait and wide, non-blinking eyes.  I found that 'crackheads' were the type of people who would do anything to get crack (such as lie & steal) and weren't much of killers.  Haha, silly me, planning my escape plan in my head at work, lol.  I also found that they could be incredibly strong so it would be best not to get in a fight with them, also because apparently, they don't feel much pain.

So lesson learned, if you see someone suspicious, try not to to keep too much attention on them as if you're suspicious and don't aggravate them in any way.  It's the best way to keep safe in many situations actually..

I'm so glad and grateful that I got home safely today because sometimes you never know..  America seems like such a dangerous place to live in these days with all these mass shootings going on.  Maybe I'm being paranoid... I dunno.

I'm off to bed now.  Goodnight guys!  Sleep tight and appreciate all the good things in life.  :)

HAHA, that's so scary!!!!! XD I'm sorry about the laughing face. The way you described the situation was just a bit funny. If I was in your situation I would probably act the same x3

I'm so glad that she waited for you! I'm also happy that you came home safe! ^-^

And, it's okay to be paranoid sometimes! Who wouldn't be, after hearing about those mass shootings? ;_;

Dang, I wouldn't know what I would do if I saw someone on drugs in a store.
